What is Mediation?
Mediation may be required when there has been a conflict that may not be resolved easily. It’s often used after informal discussions have not resulted in a solution.
Mediation is best when faciliatted by an independent and impartial trained mediator.
Mediation is voluntary and therefore no one can be forced to enter into mediation or accept a solution.
Mediation is an evidence based approach to resolve conflict and has a very high sucess rate.
Work place mediation
Mediation is best completed within one working day. In advance of the planned day, I will have a telephone call with both parties to explain the process and alleviate any worries.
In the morning there are 2 x 1:1 meetings with each party involved in the conflict sitution. These sessions provide an opportunity for both to explore their experiences in a safe and non- judgemental space.
After lunch, there is a joint meeting where both parties are able to speak to one another without being interupted for around 10 minutes. Both parties are supported to share their experience, the impact of the conflict and what they need to move forward.
Following the uninterupted speaking time, there is space for a disucssion and then resolution begins. The mediator will support the development of a confludential mediation plan with all aprties agreed to follow going forward.
I offer follow up communication with both parties following the mediaton if required.
Pricing
Mediation is best carried out within one day.
One days mediation is £300 (Travel expenses to be paid if travel is 40 miles+)

Couples mediation
I offer couples mediation where both are commited to working through a difficult problem. Each person attends for one or two sessions alone and then I bring the couple together for a joint session.
Individual sessions are £50 and joint £60.
